Gui Zai Xi Zhi is made from tea trees shrouded in mist year-round. Crafted using traditional charcoal roasting methods, the dry leaves are twisted, dark, and glossy, exuding the warm and comfortable aroma of caramelized plant protein.
Aroma: Clear, vibrant cinnamon bark aroma, accompanied by a surprisingly delicate osmanthus blossom fragrance.
Tasting notes:
Steeps 1-5: Initial warmth and sweetness, gradually building intensity. The cinnamon and floral notes emerge, with a pronounced mineral backbone.
Steeps 6-12: The tea reaches its peak, delivering a rich, layered mouthfeel with deep fruity sweetness, woody complexity, and the full power of its rock character.
Steeps 13-20+: The tea transitions into something gentle, sweet, and smooth. The intense spice gives way to delicate floral and light woody/cedar notes, maintaining its distinctive sweetness without becoming watery or astringent.
Texture: The tea is characteristically smooth, sweet, and remarkably mellow. The finish is exceptionally long, leaving a lingering sweetness (huigan) and a gentle, cooling sensation in the throat.
